About Sonir

Sonir is two tools: Sonir Bench, where you design the DSP your playback runs through, and Sonir Remote, which measures your room for it. Both are instruments. Neither takes a side on what sounds good.

What it is for

People who care about playback can usually describe what they want. What stops them is the loop: designing a filter, hearing it on their own system right away, and knowing what in the measurement matches what they heard. Bench closes that loop. It does not ship a model of any particular product; you build the filters and the tone yourself, or have an AI build them.

Objectivity and control

The promise is not “good sound” but that you can see and change every stage.

Say what it can’t do

DSP before the DAC cannot reproduce how a real amplifier interacts with your speakers. We say so rather than imply otherwise.

Numbers, not an arms race

f64 already puts rounding error far below any DAC’s noise floor. We don’t chase bit depth past the point where it stops mattering.

Your recordings stay yours

Captured audio is never written to a file, and Remote’s recordings never leave the phone.

Who builds it

Sonir is built and run solo by the independent developer nadai, a backend engineer by trade who writes the audio processing from scratch. One person, a few products, for the long run.
